The Team
Founder
Prof. Motti Shohat, MD. Dr. Shohat is a world renowned expert in medical genetics with 248 original research articles to his credit. He has co-authored and edited two books, and received numerous personal awards for his achievements in genetics research. For several decades he has served as professor of pediatrics and medical genetics at Tel Aviv University and Director of the Rafael Recanathi institute for Medical Genetics. Dr. Shohat is a member of the Israeli, American and European Societies of Medical Genetics, as well as of the National Counseling Committee of the Ministry of Health for OB/GYN and Genetics.
Management
Eran Lagon, CEO. Eran is an expert business development professional with a strong technological background. Prior to joining Mediscale, Eran served as Director of Business Products and Business Development Executive for AOL/ICQ (NYSE: AOL), and held several executive positions in VC backed startups including VesTopia and Navicula.
Ofir Shahar, CTO. Ofir is an expert in product marketing and a technological innovator. He has served as a product executive and technology leader in several Israeli startups, including Ceedo (director of product marketing), and Navicula Inc (co‐founder and CTO). Ofir is a graduate of the Israeli military software academy and an elite Intelligence unit.
Scientific Advisory Board
Professor Howard Cuckle, Professor Emeritus at the School of Medicine at the University of Leeds. Prof. Cuckle developed several of the antenatal screening tests that are currently the standard of care by obstetrical and gynecological practitioners worldwide. He has authored over 300 medical articles and chapters and serves on over a dozen boards and committees concerned with prenatal and antenatal screening.
Dr Mary D’Alton, MD, FACOG Willard C. Rappleye Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Chair, Department of OB/GYN, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. D’Alton has distinguished herself as a leader in maternal fetal medicine. Dr. D’Alton has published, edited, and presented more than 150 publications, is the co-author of Fetology, and has served as principal investigator on large clinical trials.
Dr Siegfried Rotmensch, MD, Director for the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Rotmensch is a clinician and a scholar authoring over 80 articles in top journals including Lancet and American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In the United States, he served as a consultant to the Perinatology Research Branch of the National Institutes of Health.
